Speaking of Insulation

Speaking of Insulation

What about your walls and attics?  Are they insulated?  In attics you want no less than twelve inches (12″) of insulation.  Heat rises and easily escapes through the roof.

There is an old adage which says snow on the roof is good.  What that means is if your roof is able to sustain snow without melting, you can bet your attic is well insulated.  In other words, your furnace is heating the house and not the roof.

Measure the depth of insulation in your attic and add to it if necessary.
